↘️There is time or date on which earth reaches closest or farthest point from sun and marking longest and shortest days and nights is solstice. 

There are two hemispheres, ✳️northern and ✳️southern 

 ➡️In the northern hemisphere the summer starts from June solstice
It occurs when the North Pole is tilted closest to sun, and the tropic of cancer bears direct rays of sun ☀ . 
🔆longest day and shortest night of year is 21st June🔆 

 ➡️ winter starts with the December solstice , at this point point Tilt is present on south pole, and the tropic of Capricon gets direct rays on it.

↘️ The equinox this term means equal length. 
 ➡️ The Equinox:- When the sun is exactly above the equator, which makes equal length of days and nights and it occurs twice in a year.

🔅23 September Autumnal equinox .
